I always wanted to be a Mummy, a wife and a doctor. Once I had kids, I realized it would be a daily struggle – there is always a compromise. By having my kids when doing research, which has been more flexible, I have had to struggle with delaying my training, and struggling to fund an interrupted research project. And I am really dreading returning to clinical work and coping with alternate weekends on, late evenings and overnight call. My kids will probably be fine, but I’ll be a mess. But it may just be worth it.
